I just received an email from MASON WILLIAMS informing me that he and Karen just got married on Tuesday, June 21. THE STORY: The last time MASON WILLIAMS performed live in Washington, D.C., I contacted him and he said he would be happy to add me to the VIP list. So, when I got to Constitution Hall, this meant that I would get to sit in one of the VIP boxes. I was escorted to my VIP box where Karen (Mason's girlfriend) invited me to share the box with her. You could tell right away what a kind and considerate person she was. At the end of the performance Karen invited me backstage to meet Mason. I was unable to talk to Mason long due to the fact that they were presenting him with what appeared to be a large crystal glass trophy. During this time I was entertained by Hal Blaine (known as Mr. drums and was the session drummer for so many groups) who after performing with MASON WILLIAMS, was running around backstage asking if anyone had seen his jacket. Even back then I could sense the intense bond between Mason and Karen. Mason is the nicest person I have met in the music business and Karen seems equally as kind. So, C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S Mason & Karen! May you both find eternal happiness. All four of the original members of the VANILLA FUDGE have reunited (including MARK STEIN !) and will be at the Harbor Center in Portsmouth, VA. on 8/7/5. WARNING: For all of you that have kept your vinyl records - hold on to them! They have just invented the ELP Laser Turntable "that leaves all digital formats in the dust". You can check it out at www.audioturntable.com. Unfortunately, they are too expensive right now (like buying a new car!). Let's hope the price becomes reasonable once it hits the open market. I just received an email from SILVER APPLES (Simeon Coxe). He is doing well and is producing and playing, but not touring at the moment. Unfortunately, the original drummer Danny Taylor died March 10. Danny was offered the position of drummer by Jimi Hendrix, but his loyalty and previous commitment to Simeon kept him in SILVER APPLES. We salute him. |

The good news is that the NEW YORK ROCK & ROLL ENSEMBLEs' first album is out. The bad news is that it is on the Collectables label. This means that there are the usual speed problems in the recording. The speed problems in this CD are minute speed slips here and there, which is much better than the Bubble Puppy CD where the speed was slow on the entire CD. So, you are better off going back to homemade CD's until this album is re-released. Tickets are on sale now for THE ROLLING STONES appearing at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. on 10/3/5.
